The Business Game has been designed to recreate the complexity of strategic decision-making in a realistic yet risk-free environment. Participants take the role of executive teams responsible for managing the performance of a virtual business, analysing market data, balancing operational priorities and making decisions that directly influence financial and commercial outcomes throughout the simulation.

Working in small teams encourages collaboration, collective problem-solving and constructive debate. Participants are required to combine their expertise, challenge assumptions and agree on strategic priorities before making decisions, closely reflecting the collaborative dynamics of executive leadership. This team-based approach also strengthens communication skills and reinforces the importance of cross-functional decision-making.

Throughout the simulation, changing market conditions and evolving business scenarios require participants to continuously reassess their strategy and adapt their decisions. This progressive learning process develops critical thinking, business acumen and the ability to anticipate the consequences of strategic choices in an increasingly competitive environment.

Integrated into a two-day face-to-face programme, the Business Game alternates simulation phases with debriefing sessions led by facilitators. These collective discussions enable participants to analyse their decisions, compare strategies with other teams and identify practical lessons that can be transferred to their day-to-day management responsibilities.

The use of realistic business indicators provides executives with a deeper understanding of the relationships between operational performance, financial results and long-term strategic objectives. By interpreting key performance metrics and measuring the impact of their decisions, participants strengthen their ability to make informed, data-driven decisions aligned with corporate objectives.

By combining experiential learning, strategic simulation and collaborative decision-making, Firmenich equips its leaders with the skills required to navigate complex business environments, strengthen leadership capabilities and foster a shared understanding of the company's strategic priorities. This immersive approach contributes to developing more agile, confident and business-oriented management teams.
